AAF has uncovered yet another example of how union money quietly reshapes local elections. Our latest report, highlighted in a recent Business North Carolina article, shows:
- In Charlotte, SEIU-backed (Service Employees International Union) groups poured more than $315,000 into a city council race decided by just 34 votes.
- Since the election, the SEIU hasn’t filed campaign-finance disclosures with state or local authorities.
- The spending reflects a broader pattern: massive outside spending, razor-thin margins, and little transparency.
- They know the rules. The question is whether they followed them.
