AAF Files Lawsuit Against HHS & NIH Bureaucrats Stonewalling Long-awaited Study on Puberty-blocking Drugs

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The American Accountability Foundation (AAF) has filed a federal lawsuit against the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for refusing to release data from a taxpayer-funded study on the effects of puberty-blocking drugs on minors.

In 2024, Dr. Olson-Kennedy, who led the study, publicly stated that the results were withheld due to concerns over the “charged” political climate in the United States.

AAF submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to NIH seeking access to the study’s findings and related records. After NIH failed to comply, AAF filed an administrative appeal, which was subsequently denied.

“For over a year, HHS has been hiding a bombshell study that confirms what we’ve known all along: transgender therapy is a failure,” said Tom Jones, President of the American Accountability Foundation. “The lead researcher herself admitted that the findings challenge the effectiveness of these drugs. HHS bureaucrats are playing woke political games, ignoring science and common sense. We’re fighting back, suing HHS to force them to follow the law and release this truth. The American people deserve to know what’s being hidden by the radical left!”
